How long have you worked at St. Rocco's?
I began working at St. Rocco’s in June 2023. In August 2023 I started my apprenticeship in Content Creation which I completed in November this year and was lucky enough to be shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Apprentice of the Year’ at the Manchester Young Talent Awards thanks to a lovely nomination from my Line Manager Gemma Sheerin. St. Rocco's has always been a place close to the hearts of my family as my Uncle was taken care of at the Hospice and they have been involved in Fundraising for many years.
What do you enjoy most about working in Marketing?
I love the creativity of my role, each day is different. My role has helped my confidence grow, never would I thought I would be brave enough to speak to so many individuals daily but I love to hear people’s stories and what St. Rocco’s means to them. It’s very honouring to know that I can help people share their stories and show their support, each person you meet has a unique connection to the hospice so it is special to be a part of that.
What does your role involve?
My role involves providing support across the whole hospice along with the rest of the Marketing team. I am responsible for posting daily on all of our social media channels, gathering the content for posts, taking photographs, and writing up the content. I also work on email campaigns for the hospice, creating the artwork and writing up the content for those to send out to hospice supporters. It is important for me to also monitor campaign analytics to review their success across all Marketing aspects, these analytics will be developed into reports and shared with hospice teams. One of my favorite parts of my job role is writing up stories and news for the website, I especially enjoy writing up Day in the Life profiles like this one! Along with this, I am also involved with the internal communications that are shared within the hospice, and developing visual content that is both digital and printed. I will also attend hospice events to support Marketing, I even took part in this year’s Hospice Hike, walking a full marathon as a personal challenge, just a few months after recovering from Endometriosis removal surgery, and to help raise vital funds in support of patient care.
Do you have a message for the people who are thinking about applying for a job at St. Rocco’s?
St. Rocco’s is such a special place to work, you witness each day just how dedicated staff and volunteers are and how much they each care about what they do. It is a place that wants to see you grow both professionally and individually.
